Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Spinners Mill?

The Spinners Mill Podcast Studio is a recording studio based in Banana Block in East Belfast that facilitates podcast recording and DJ sessions.

Our name comes from the history that predates our location at Portview Trade Centre. Located in East Belfast, originally known as the Jaffe Spinning Company and then, the Strand Spinning Mill, a linen mill built in 1911, that contributed to a large export facility of textiles from Northern Ireland. As the production of linen and synthetic fibers declined in Belfast, the mill ceased operations in the early 1980s.

With recent urban regeneration funding, Portview Trade Centre has become a hub for creativity and passionate business owners who wish to continue the industrious legacy. We are passionate about continuing the historical tradition of storytelling and being a part of the success the city of Belfast has had in more recent years. If you wish to hear more about the history or wish to tell your own story, get in touch we would love to chat about it!

We have a video podcast request form on our booking page which allows you to make a request. This will guarantee a time slot for you, whilst we assess feasibility and our ability to deliver in the timeframe given.
